Padelup

Privacy policy

Effective 28 October 2026.

Padelup helps padel players in Mansoura fill the empty place on a court they booked, and turns the matches they play into a level and a weekly leaderboard. This page says what we collect, why, who else receives it, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. "We" and "us" mean the team that runs Padelup. You can reach us at support@getpadelup.com.

Padelup is invite-only. You must be at least 16 years old to use it.

What we collect

Here is what you give us, and what the app records while you use it.

  • Your account. Your email address, from your Google, Apple or email sign-in, and the sign-in account itself. If you sign in with email and a password, we never see the password: our sign-in provider keeps it.
  • Your profile. Your display name and photo, your level and how it changed over time, and your answers to the questions that set your starting level.
  • Your preferences. Your home venue, your preferred play times and your notification settings, if you set them.
  • Your WhatsApp number, which you add when you sign up.
  • The court times you play and your match results. You book courts with the venues yourselves: Padelup doesn't reserve courts. It records the booking you log or join, who played, and the scores of the matches played in it.
  • Open matches you create, join or ask to join, with the note you may add.
  • Your app language, en or ar, read from your phone. We use it to send you notifications in that language. The app shows Arabic or English following your phone's language. This policy is in English.
  • Push tokens, the address of your phone for notifications, and the notifications we sent you, shown in your inbox.
  • Usage events: which screens you open and which actions you take in the app. They hold ids and categories, never the text you type.
  • Reports and blocks. The reports you send about a player or an open match, and the players you block.
  • Invite codes you use or give out, and which version of the terms you agreed to.
  • Server logs. Our servers keep technical logs to run and fix the app. The app's own log holds a request number, the route, the result and the timing, and no names, emails, phone numbers or IP addresses. It keeps only the most recent 50 MB of lines, so old lines are overwritten by size, not after a fixed number of days. Like any web server, the servers and their host can see your IP address when your phone connects.

Phone numbers of friends you invite

When you hold a place in a match for a friend who isn't on Padelup yet, or invite a friend, you type their phone number. This is a third party's data, so here is exactly what we do with it:

  • We use it only to send the invite through your own WhatsApp, and to let that friend join the match when they sign up.
  • It is never shown to other players. Only you, who typed it, see it in full. The people who run Padelup see its last 4 digits.
  • It is stored with that place in the match. Today we do not delete it automatically: it stays with the match's record when the match ends or is cancelled, when your friend joins, and when you delete your account, until your friend asks us to remove it.
  • A friend can ask us to remove their number at any time by emailing support@getpadelup.com, and we will.

Who sees what

  • Your email is never shown to other players.
  • Your WhatsApp number is not shown on your profile unless you turn on "Show my WhatsApp number on my profile" in Settings; then other signed-in players can see it there. Whether or not you do, a Message button opens a WhatsApp chat with you for the players in the same open match or booking as you, and for any signed-in player who views an open match you organise. We give the app a wa.me link for this, not the number as text, but once a chat is open, WhatsApp shows each of you the other's number.
  • Your name, photo and level are visible to other signed-in players: in open matches, in bookings, on profiles and on the leaderboard. Photos are stored as ordinary image files, so anyone who has a photo's web address can open it.
  • Pages you share. The link to a match or a booking result opens in any browser without signing in. It shows display names, the venue, the date, the scores and the level changes. It never shows an email address or a WhatsApp number.
  • Admins. The people who run Padelup can see accounts, reports and results to run the app and to review reports.

Who else receives your data

We use a few services to run Padelup. They receive only what the job needs.

  • Google Firebase signs you in (Google, Apple and email sign-in) and delivers push notifications to Android and iPhone through Firebase Cloud Messaging. It receives your email, your sign-in identity, your push token and the text of each notification.
  • Apple delivers notifications to iPhones, through Apple's push notification service. If you sign in with Apple, Apple gives us your name and your email or a private relay address.
  • Expo (EAS Update) delivers updates to the app. Each time the app starts, it contacts Expo's update server, which receives your IP address and the app and runtime versions. It receives no account data.
  • OVHcloud hosts our servers and database and stores profile photos. It holds the data above on our behalf.
  • Namecheap forwards the email you send to support@getpadelup.com to our inbox, so what you write to us, including a request to delete your account or a friend's request to remove a phone number, passes through it. Our domain's address records at Namecheap carry no personal data.
  • Doppler stores our settings and secrets. It holds no personal data.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. Padelup does not track you across other apps or websites.

How long we keep it

  • Your account, profile and bookings: while your account exists. Your match results and level history stay after you delete your account, as "Deleted player", because other players' levels depend on them. Deleting your account is described below.
  • Phone numbers of friends you invite: see the section above. They are not deleted automatically yet.
  • Notifications in your inbox: 30 days.
  • Usage events: 180 days. After you delete your account they are kept for the rest of that time without any link to you.
  • Reports you sent or that name you: while the app runs, so we can review them and spot repeated abuse. Players you blocked are removed when you delete your account.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account in the app at any time (Profile → Settings → Delete account), or by email if you can no longer sign in. What we delete at once, and what we keep and for how long, is on the Delete your account page.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Most of it you can see and change yourself in the app. For the rest, email support@getpadelup.com from the address on your account. We reply within 30 days.

Changes

If we change this policy, we change the date at the top of this page.
